Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Rollhood (“Rollhood”, “rollhood.com”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a free educational website where anyone can learn science, math, and general knowledge through quizzes and games. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use rollhood.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Rollhood, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
The short version
- You can play quizzes and games without creating an account.
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- Rollhood is free. We never ask for payment or card details.
- Kids should use a nickname as their player name and ask a parent before creating an account.
- To see or delete your information, email info@rollhood.com.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information you give us
- Player name: before you play, we ask for a player name. It is shown next to your score and saved in your browser so you don’t have to type it again. It does not need to be your real name.
- Account details (optional): if you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. You may also choose to add a phone number, mailing address, and referral code. We store your password only in an encrypted (hashed) form, never as readable text.
- Messages to us: if you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and your message.
b. Information collected when you play
- The quiz or game you played, the level, your score, the time you took, and the date and time.
- If you play from a challenge link a friend shared, an ID that connects your result to that challenge.
- Your IP address, which we store with quiz results to detect cheating, fraud, and abuse.
c. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we automatically collect some technical information, such as your browser type and version, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and the website that referred you. We use this information for analytics, security, and to improve Rollhood.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Run Rollhood: show quizzes, record scores, and keep your score history
- Let you challenge friends and compare scores
- Create and manage your account, sign you in, and verify your email address
- Reply to your questions and support requests
- Understand which quizzes are popular and improve our content
- Prevent cheating, fraud, and misuse, and keep the website secure
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
3. What Other Players Can See
When you share a quiz or challenge link, people who open it may see your player name and score, and you may see theirs. Please choose a player name you are comfortable sharing, and don’t use your full real name.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
Rollhood uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage:
- Sign-in cookie: keeps you logged in to your account. Account features need this cookie to work.
- Local storage: saves your player name, recent searches, and similar preferences on your own device so the site remembers them.
- Analytics cookies: set by Google Analytics to help us count visits and understand how the site is used.
You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Quizzes will still work, but you may need to enter your player name again and you won’t be able to stay signed in. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Third-Party Services
We work with a few service providers to run Rollhood:
- Google Analytics for website analytics. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Email delivery to send verification codes and replies.
- Hosting and database providers that store data for us.
- Embedded content: some quizzes may include videos or content from other platforms, which may collect information under their own privacy policies.
These providers have their own privacy policies, and Rollhood is not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review them.
6. How Long We Keep Information
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. We keep quiz results and messages for as long as they are needed for the purposes described in this policy. When you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required by law to keep it.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, such as storing passwords only in hashed form and limiting who can access our systems. However, no method of data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s Privacy
Rollhood is for learners of all ages, including younger learners in our Kids Smart Zone. We want kids to learn safely:
- Kids can play quizzes without creating an account or giving us contact details.
- We ask kids to use a nickname, not their real name, as their player name.
- Children under 13 should not create an account or use our contact form without a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent, in line with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has given us personal information, or you are a parent who wants to review or delete your child’s information, please contact us at info@rollhood.com and we will remove it.
